CHESHIRE, NY — March 6th — Max, the president's son, visited the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department recently to spend time with firefighters and learn about the day-to-day operations of the station. Max had the chance to assist with minor duties around the firehouse and observe how firemen set up tools and equipment for emergencies.

Younger members of the community are introduced to the fire service at a young age through volunteer fire departments, which frequently function as family-centered organizations. Children have a greater understanding of how firefighters serve their communities through these trips. Youth involvement and interest in the future of the volunteer fire service are fostered by programs like junior firefighter initiatives and station visits from various departments.
