GENEVA, NY — February 28th — The City of Geneva Fire Department members recently finished their yearly OSHA safety training, which included current equipment utilized during emergency operations as well as workplace safety protocols. The department's new gas meters, which assist firemen in identifying dangerous environments including carbon monoxide, combustible gasses, and low oxygen levels, were covered in the training. These meters are frequently employed in situations where there may be hazardous air quality, such as gas leaks and building fires.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration states that frequent safety training guarantees that responders are aware of current safety regulations and helps minimize workplace risks. Such programs assist firemen in maintaining readiness while working in difficult conditions. Additionally, yearly training aids departments in upholding compliance and reinforcing safe procedures that safeguard firemen and the communities they serve.
