On March 13, the Brockport Fire District sponsored a familiarization training for Monroe Ambulance, Gates Ambulance, and Mercy EMS.

Firefighters examined the ambulance layouts and medical equipment used by the responding EMS agencies. According to officials, the training allows firefighters and EMTs to work more efficiently together while responding to medical emergencies.

Firefighters are frequently sent to support EMS services and may ride with ambulance crews to assist with patient care. Leaders emphasized the importance of understanding ambulance equipment and layout in saving time during crises, where seconds might be the difference between patient outcomes.
