February 26, 2026 — The Lower Alsace Fire Company has officially formed a 100th Anniversary Committee to begin preparations for a yearlong celebration marking a century of dedicated service to the community.
Founded in 1927, the volunteer fire company will celebrate 100 years of protecting and serving Lower Alsace Township in 2027. Members of the newly established committee will begin organizing events and activities to commemorate the department’s long history and the generations of volunteers who have served the community.
As part of the planning process, the department is also working to expand its historical collection. While the fire company already maintains a large archive of photographs and memorabilia documenting its past, members are asking the public for help in preserving additional pieces of local history.
Community members who may have photos, newspaper clippings, artifacts, or other memorabilia connected to the fire company are encouraged to reach out if they would like to donate items or place them on loan for the anniversary celebration.
The centennial celebration aims to highlight the fire company’s proud tradition of volunteer service while honoring the many firefighters, families, and residents who have supported the department over the past century.
