Largest Hiring Class in 20 Years Joins Lake Mohegan Fire District

Lake Mohegan, NY — The Lake Mohegan Professional firemen Local 2956 welcomed the Lake Mohegan Fire District's newest probationary firemen, Sam Guida (98), Nick Colello (99), Matt Russo (100), Nick Rubeo (101), Jake Tussel (102), and Paul Cirillo (103).


Officials stated that the group is the department's largest hiring class in over 20 years. The new members have diverse backgrounds, including EMS, volunteer firefighting, military service, dispatching, security, and building inspection.


The recruits have already began in-house training with department personnel, practicing skills like as SCBA operation, tool familiarization, hose line advancement, and other operational drills. The group is scheduled to begin the next phase of training at the Westchester County Career Chiefs Fire Academy, where they will complete a 21-week academy program in preparation for serving the Lake Mohegan community.
