March 14, 2026 — Members of the Bartlett Firefighters Association took part in their second training night of the season, focusing on essential firefighting skills including hose deployment, entry techniques, water flow management, and proper donning of protective gear. During the training session, firefighters simulated scenarios where fire could be located behind a closed door and practiced advancing hose lines through tight and challenging areas around structures. Crews also worked with large-diameter hose lines, emphasizing the coordination, strength, and teamwork required to maneuver heavy hoses filled with water during an active emergency. Department officials noted that while the drills may appear simple, they are designed to build the muscle memory and teamwork necessary for firefighters to perform effectively when responding to real emergencies. Leaders stressed that consistent training ensures crews remain prepared for the unpredictable situations they may face when the alarm sounds.
