Valhalla, NY — March 4th — Another "Orientation for Agency Heads" event was held by the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services, with an emphasis on the county's Communications Division. The two-hour training was held at the county facility on Dana Road and was attended by fire and EMS leaders from all around Westchester County. The meeting was opened by Director of Communications Sal Astarita, and then Captain of Communications John Munson gave instructions with help from Lieutenant Jason Nickson, who is in charge of the Incident Dispatch Team.

Participants were given a rundown of the day-to-day activities at the county's emergency communications center, also referred to as "60 Control," which manages radio traffic and dispatching for numerous occurrences throughout the county. Radio protocols, incident communications, and coordination during fires, rescues, mass casualty incidents, and severe weather responses were all covered in the program.
