East Haddam Fire Department Elects Nathan Botting as New Captain

East Haddam, CT - At the East Haddam Fire Department’s monthly meeting on March 3, 2026, a special election was held, resulting in the promotion of Nathan Botting to the rank of Captain.
Prior to his promotion, Botting served as a Lieutenant, a role in which he consistently demonstrated strong leadership and dedication to the department. He holds numerous certifications, including Firefighter I and II, EMT, Instructor I and II, Pump Operator, Aerial Operator, Haz-Mat Technician, and Rope Rescue Technician. He is also currently enrolled in Fire Officer I and II training.
In addition to his service with East Haddam, Botting works as a career firefighter with the Mohegan Tribe and serves as a part-time career EMT with Haddam Ambulance. Throughout his career, he has earned several citations and awards recognizing his commitment and service.
Botting assumes the position previously held by Captain Ryan Miner. Miner recently relocated to his hometown of Deep River but has agreed to remain with the East Haddam Fire Department as a special member. Department leadership expressed deep appreciation for Miner’s contributions and dedication to improving both the department and the community.
