Hudson, NY — 18th February — A training session on aerial operations and truck placement using Tower 24-54 was conducted at Station Three by the Greenport Fire Department, located at 216 Green Street in Hudson. Firefighters performed correct truck positioning for aerial ladder operations and examined the equipment carried on the tower apparatus. In order to guarantee safe and efficient ladder placement, crews also practiced the setup techniques utilized during structure fires.
During the exercise, two of the department's newest employees got firsthand experience with the tower truck and its apparatus.
Volunteer firefighters who receive regular training are more equipped to handle situations including elevated fire attacks, rescue operations, and aerial access. around the year, refresher drills are held by departments around Columbia County to ensure crew coordination and readiness.
