Champlain, NY — 24th February — The Champlain Fire District held the first night of the Northern Battalion Joint Training Program, which brought together firefighters and emergency personnel from all throughout northern Clinton County. Assistant Safety Officer Brian Wellnitz of NG Advantage, a Milton, Vermont-based business that specializes in the delivery and transportation of compressed natural gas, gave a presentation during the session.

Emergency response protocols and responder safety in CNG transportation vehicle incidents were the main topics of the presentation. While serving clients in western New York, these vehicles frequently pass through fire districts in northern Clinton County. The greatest attendance for an NG Advantage presentation was 58 firemen and responders from six departments. Altona, Ellenburg Depot, Champlain, Chazy, Hemmingford Fire Service, Clinton County Emergency Services, and Champlain-Mooers EMS were among the participating groups.
