Genoa, NY — February 21st — Members of the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department have finished a hectic week of meetings, training, and professional development throughout the region.

The following evening, 18 firefighters attended ESIP's "Webinar Wednesday," which covered tactics for functioning effectively with reduced manpower. Following the lecture, participants explored how to solve staffing issues in their department.

On Thursday, the department sponsored a training session titled "Terrorism Awareness and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Fire and EMS," which was led by instructor Corey Rooker. Thirteen members and firemen from nearby agencies attended.

The week ended with six members traveling to the City of Geneva Fire Department for the 2026 leadership course. Frank Leeb delivered a talk titled "Cornerstones of Leadership for Real World Success" during the session.
