Arlington Fire District Marks International Women’s Day

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — March 8th — In honor of International Women's Day, the Arlington Fire District, located at 11 Burnett Blvd. in Poughkeepsie, New York, honored the women who work there. The increasing number of women working in emergency medical and fire services was recognized by department officials. At Arlington, women work as firefighter paramedics, firefighter EMTs, and support personnel who assist with day-to-day operations.



These employees assist with administrative tasks that support the department's purpose, respond to emergency calls, and care for patients. More women are joining the fire department around New York State, taking on leadership and operational positions. According to officials, their commitment, professionalism, and teamwork help guarantee dependable emergency service for the people the Arlington Fire District serves.
