Franklinville Volunteer Fire Department Honors Life of Past Chief

FRANKLINVILLE, NY — February 11th — Randy Benjamin, a longtime member and former chief of the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Department, located at 77 N Main St. in Franklinville, New York, passed away. He had been with the department for fifty years. Throughout his career, Benjamin held a number of leadership positions, including Chief and Assistant Chief. He remained in command for many years until 2012. He was a Fire Commissioner at the time of his death.


Throughout his tenure, Benjamin assisted oversee department operations, provided training, and mentored younger firemen in addition to responding to multiple emergency calls. In Cattaraugus County, volunteer agencies frequently depend on seasoned members to assist with training and leadership. Benjamin was honored by the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Department for his longstanding devotion to the community and fire service, as well as his leadership qualities.
