CATTARAUGUS, NY — March 9th — During a planned training night, members of the Cattaraugus Volunteer Fire Department convened, utilizing the favorable weather to carry out practical exercises. While working on the station grounds, firefighters practiced collaboration, communication, and equipment use. In order to keep volunteer departments in New York prepared for structural fires, rescues, and other emergency situations, they depend on frequent training.

Additionally, these seminars give new members the opportunity to practice safe operating methods and collaborate with more seasoned firefighters. To improve member coordination and skills, the Cattaraugus Volunteer Fire Department continues to conduct regular drills all year long. When the department is called upon to assist the community, firemen are better equipped to respond safely and effectively thanks to regular training.
