Brighton Fire Recognizes Service of Denis Jeffries

BRIGHTON, NY — March 10th — The Brighton Fire Department honored Firefighter/EMT Denis Jeffries for his long-standing dedication and leadership in the department.


Jeffries first got engaged with the department through the Explorer Post in 2000, before becoming a firefighter in 2003. He is currently a Fire Commissioner and has served on the Brighton Fire Department Board of Directors for the past 16 years.


According to department officials, volunteering with the BFD is a family tradition for the Jeffries family. His grandpa was the Fire Chief and Commissioner, and his father and three uncles also worked for the department. Today, his relative upholds the tradition as a career captain. The six Jeffries family members have a combined 258 years of service with the Brighton Fire Department.
