The program consisted of a brief classroom talk followed by demonstrations in the department parking lot. Fire Police officers demonstrated how emergency lights appears to approaching drivers and how it affects traffic flow through an incident area.

The training emphasized the function of Fire Police in traffic management and the protection of firemen and emergency personnel on roadways. While many firefighters concentrate on fire suppression, rescue, and medical operations, traffic management remains an important safety responsibility in many situations.
