Several new Seneca County firefighters received ground ladder training as part of the Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (B.E.F.O.) course at the Seneca County Fire Training Center on Feb 28.
The Ovid Fire Department's three new members attended the seminar. During the training, trainees practiced ladder placement, climbing skills, and safe operation of ground ladders utilized in outdoor firefighting operations.
The BEFO program provides hands-on training to prepare new firefighters with the core skills required to assist at emergency scenes and support fireground operations throughout the county.
