On March 9, members of the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department conducted a training drill focusing on driver operations and water delivery procedures.

During the evening training, firefighters rehearsed using the department's water tender and reviewed hydrant connection procedures known as "catching the plug" or "hitting the hydrant." The training gave drivers and firefighters a refresher on how to arrange a reliable water supply during fires.
