— March 2nd — Members of Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 announced that Glenn Zahlmann, former Chief and current Chairman of the Board, earned the Smoky Fales Award at the Rockland County Fire Chiefs Association Old Timers Dinner.

The Smoky Fales Award, named after former Haverstraw Fire Department Chief Charles "Smoky" Fales, is given to a senior member who remains active in their department while also participating in regional groups and committees.

According to department authorities, the accolade honors Zahlmann's years of dedication, leadership, and continuous involvement in the fire service.
