Central Square, NY — February 21st — In order to maintain response coverage for the Central Square neighborhood, eight members of the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department Inc. worked at the department's Eastside station during a nighttime standby. Four interior firefighters, two exterior firemen, an EMT, and a driver/operator made up the crew. The department was able to respond to fire, rescue, or medical crises with both a light rescue and a rescue pumper because to this manning.
Firefighters reviewed fundamental fireground operations and maintained preparedness while at the station by conducting in-house hose line training. Along with sharing a meal, members spent time organizing response protocols and equipment while still being accessible for calls. Volunteer agencies frequently use station staffing to expedite response times and guarantee that equipment and qualified personnel are prepared for emergencies.
