Caughdenoy Firefighter Sarah Brown Earns CTE Top Award

Central Square, NY — February 13th — Firefighter Sarah Brown received recognition from the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department Inc. after placing first in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Top 3 Award Program for the second year in a row. Students that exhibit exceptional academic performance, leadership, and technical proficiency in career-focused training programs are recognized by the CTE program. Many of these programs assist in preparing students for professions in skilled trades, public safety, and emergency services.


Brown's honor, according to department commanders, is a testament to her commitment to education and the fire service. Such accomplishments demonstrate the relationship between volunteer fire units that depend on skilled personnel and career training programs.
