Unadilla FD Uses Vacant House for Hands-On Drill

UNADILLA, NY — February 16th —The Unadilla Fire Department used their weekly drill night to undertake hands-on training in a vacant residence in the village of Unadilla.


Senior firemen and officials were able to work alongside newer members while practicing various important firefighting techniques. Crews focused on ladder placement and setup, safely transitioning on and off a roof using ground ladders, and maintaining clear radio communication during operations.


Following the practical evolutions, members met for a post-drill discussion to go over the training. Firefighters addressed lessons learned, areas for growth, and skills they wanted to work on during future drills.
