February 16, 2026 — February has proven to be a busy month for the dedicated volunteers of Coldenham Fire-Rescue, with members responding to more than 30 calls so far this month.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., firefighters responded alongside Town of Montgomery EMS for a medical emergency. Cars 1, 2, and 3 responded to the scene while Utility 201 staffed the station with additional manpower.

While units were operating at the medical call, the department was dispatched at approximately 10:30 a.m. to a motor vehicle accident. Responding units arrived to find a two-car crash with one vehicle on fire and another vehicle with a trapped occupant. Cars 1, 2, and 3, along with Rescue 208, Tanker 203, Engine 204, and Fire Police 207 responded to the scene.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the vehicle fire, extricated the trapped occupant, and secured hazards from the involved vehicles while Town of Newburgh EMS treated two injured patients.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., the department was requested to establish a landing zone at the firehouse for Town of Montgomery EMS. Engine 204 cleared the crash scene and responded to the station where firefighters, assisted by additional members on standby, established the landing zone for LifeNet of New York. All units returned to service at approximately 11:15 a.m.

The morning responses highlighted the teamwork between Coldenham Fire-Rescue, Town of Montgomery EMS, Town of Newburgh EMS, LifeNet of New York, and responding police agencies as they worked together to manage multiple incidents and provide care for those involved.
