Ithaca, NY — February 8th — Firefighters Stilwell and Albertsman received recognition from the Ithaca Fire Department, located at 310 W Green St., following their ten years of service. The firefighters have assisted with emergency operations in the City of Ithaca throughout the last ten years, responding to medical situations, vehicle wrecks, structural fires, and alarms. In addition to offering emergency response and fire safety services to the community, the department takes part in mutual aid efforts throughout Tompkins County.
Achieving the ten-year milestone is a result of ongoing training, shift work, and involvement in day-to-day firehouse operations. In Ithaca, career firefighters receive frequent training in emergency medical care, rescue, and fire control. Members of the department honored both members for their community service and acknowledged the milestone as a significant turning point in a firefighter's career.
