Orange Lake FD responded to a boat in distress on Orange Lake, March 8th. Winona Lake FD also responded. The boat was located with two people hanging onto the side of it. A command center was established on Snyder Ave. and South Street on the west side of the lake. Orange Lake launched their hovercraft boat off of Mace Cirlce while Town of Newburgh Police and EMS staged at the command post. One subject was transported to shore by the hovercraft, while the second subject was brought to shore by a row boat. Both were evaluated by EMS.
