NAPLES, FL — February 6th — The Greater Naples Fire Rescue District Technical Rescue Team recently finished specialized trench rescue training, which was designed to prepare firefighters for one of the most challenging rescue scenarios in the fire service.
Trench rescues pose considerable risks because unstable soil might collapse and imprison individuals behind heavy debris. These situations necessitate highly skilled workers who understand soil conditions, atmospheric monitoring, structural stabilization, and advanced shoring techniques.
During the hands-on training, team members built protective support systems, used specialized rescue equipment, and coordinated activities in simulated trench crises.
