Smoke Alarm Program Reaches 48 Colony Park Homes

— March 1st — Brevard County Fire Rescue's Fire Prevention Office worked with the American Red Cross to install smoke alarms in homes around Merritt Island's Colony Park neighborhood.

During the event, crews and volunteers installed approximately 100 smoke alarms in 48 homes to improve fire safety for the community. Working smoke alarms offer early notice during a fire, providing residents enough time to safely evacuate and seek for assistance. The American Red Cross provided the alarms as part of its continuous efforts to reduce fire-related deaths and injuries through community outreach and preventive programs.
