During Black History Month, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue honored firefighter paramedic Cassie Danielle Pough for her community involvement and dedication. Pough is a seven-year member of Rescue 31's C-Shift team.
Officials said Pough is well-known for her dedication to assisting locals during emergencies and for the attention she gives them during difficult times. Her career also continues a family heritage within the agency, as her mother formerly worked for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and retired as a lieutenant.
Pough, who was born and raised in the town she now guards, believes that serving people and giving back locally is one of the most important aspects of her job.
