On February 19th, the Florida State Fire Marshal's Office celebrated Fire Service Day at the State Capitol, which brought together fire departments and officials from across Florida. The yearly event promotes the capabilities, equipment, and public safety roles of fire departments around the state.

The event allowed firemen, department executives, and state officials to meet and discuss issues concerning the fire service and community safety. Agencies also demonstrated the apparatus, specialized equipment, and operational capabilities utilized to defend Florida residents. Members of the Crestview Fire Department attended the event and met with State Representative Patt Maney, who has long supported fire service programs in Crestview and Okaloosa County.
