PERRY, GA — March 2nd —The City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services announced that firemen Travis Buchanan and Garrett Beach had completed the Georgia SPARTAN training. The 24-hour course is meant to put firefighters' endurance, resilience, and decision-making skills to the test in extreme conditions. Participants experience high-stress settings with little recuperation time, which tests both physical and mental ability. Officials stated that the program improves leadership, teamwork, and operational readiness in the fire service. With Buchanan and Beach finishing the course, the department now has 11 graduates.
