Crystal River, FL — February 19th — The Crystal River Fire Department honored Captain Steve Cenko on his one-year anniversary with the department. Cenko was promoted to District Captain on October 1, 2025, bringing 15 years of previous service and Paramedic certification to the position. Over the last year, he has helped with training, operations, and daily leadership in the department. Fire Chief Melillo stated that Captain Cenko keeps a positive attitude and is committed to mentoring others in the industry. Department officials remarked that his experience and professionalism continue to improve service delivery to the City of Crystal River.
