A fast-moving fire tore through a Christopher Street dwelling in Lodi, on a mild February 17th afternoon. Heavy fire was consuming the second-floor and attic when companies arrived. Portions of the roof collapsed, and firefighters were forced to operate in a defensive mode. Mutual aid came in from Hasbrouck Heights, Hackensack, Wallington and Wood-Ridge. The fire was under control in two hours, and it displaced a family of four.
