Somerville's "Winter Hill Gang" has operated an interesting variety of apparatus as Engine 2 over the past few decades. When Maxim Apparatus was the norm in New England, they ran with a 2-Door 1975 S-Model with SCBA mounted on the exterior body. The current rig at Engine 2 is a 2018 Spartan ERV Metro Star. Despite the 43-year age gap, both rigs were designed to carry 500-gallons of water and rated to deliver 1250-gallons-per-minute. The newer Engine also has a 30-gallon foam tank.
