The Elwood Volunteer Fire Company marked a moment of reflection in January by highlighting one of its historic frontline apparatus, a 1975 Mack R pumper equipped with a 1991 Lee’s Emergency Equipment pump. Operated by Station 160, the engine served the Mullica Township community for decades, responding to countless emergencies and representing a generation of durable, hands-on firefighting equipment. The restored apparatus stands as a symbol of the department’s long-standing commitment to volunteer service, preserving the history of Elwood VFC while honoring the firefighters who relied on the rig in service to their community.
