APPARATUS OF THE MONTH

VEHICLES FROM BURLINGTON COUNTY
This month we focus in on apparatus and ambulances from Burlington County. Each time we write about Burlington County we mention that it is the largest county in size in the state spanning from the Delaware River to the Atlantic Ocean. It includes Joint Base MDL (McGuire, Dix and Lakehurst.)
In the photos we start with Woodland Township. The fire department is now renamed for the township in order to be eligible for more funding. It was formerly named “Chatsworth.” Their new Freightliner/Alexis tanker is a replacement for the 2022 one which was totaled when an erratic motorist plowed into the fire station at a high rate of speed. The road at the front of the station ramp makes a slight turn to pass it but if one does not make that turn they would run onto the ramp. Since that incident, concrete barriers have been placed to prevent this happening again while leaving room for the apparatus to enter and exit the station. The replacement is the same as the one that was wrecked. Next is Tabernacle Township’s T-4316, a Kenworth/Fouts tanker and from there we go to Evesham Township to feature their Quint 22-36, a Pierce Impel PUC. Going forward we stopped at Lumberton for their Engine 1313, an E-ONE Typhoon rescue pumper which also caries water rescue equipment and A-1391 a Ford/Horton 553 Type III ambulance which is a remount of a 2025 chassis under a 2001 module. Lastly is Westampton Township featuring Truck 27, an E-ONE Cyclone HR-100 quint, Squad 27, an E-ONE Cyclone rescue pumper with 4.5 ton portable winch and A-27806, a Ford/Frazer Type 1 ambulance which has an independent air conditioning system in the patient compartment evidenced by the vented section on the left side of the module. Frazer is manufactured in Texas and this is only the second agency in the state in which I have come across them, the first being in Hackensack (Bergen County.)
In apparatus news Hillsdale (Bergen County) has received an E-ONE Cyclone HR-100 with 1750 pump and 400 gallon water tank. Seaside Park (Ocean County) has received an E-ONE Typhoon HR-100 rear mount aerial. .Parsippany Twp. (Morris County) has ordered an E-ONE Cyclone heavy rescue with two door cab and four inch raised roof, 26 foot, stainless steel walk-in body, Cummins X15, 605 hp diesel engine, , transverse storage compartments, Will Burt Night Scan, 16,500 pound front winch and Harrison generator. Little Ferry Hose Co. 1 has ordered an E-ONE Cyclone low hose bed pumper. It will have an eight seat cab with 12 inch vista roof, Cummins X10, 450 hp diesl engine, Waterous CSU 2,000 gpm pump, 750 gallon water tank and a Harrison 6 kw generator. Northfield (Atlantic County) has ordered an E-ONE e-MAX rescue pumper. Specs include a Cummins 450 hp diesel engine, Cyclone 58 inch cab, 1500 gpm E-ONE/Darley pump, 780 gallon water and 30 gallon foam tanks, Class One Smart Foam System and aluminum body.
There has been an apparatus transfer. International Matex Tank Terminal in Bayonne (Hudson County) has purchased a 2012 Spartan Gladiator/Rescue 1 heavy rescue truck from the Southard Fire Company in Howell Township (Monmouth County.) It has a 35 kw generator, air cascade system and 9,000 pound portable winch. They are selling their previous rescue, a 1989 Pierce Lance with 35 kw generator and 9500 pound front winch. It formerly saw service with Brighton, NY and Lancaster, PA. Check this month’s “Where are they Now” feature.
The Elizabeth FD (Union County) has purchased a 2012 Seagrave 95 foot Aerialscope from the New York City Fire Department to use as a spare.
The McCabe Ambulance Service of Bayonne (Hudson County) has placed in service two Type II all-wheel-drive ambulances built by American Specialty Vehicles on Ford Transit 250 chassis. They also now have a 2012 Dodge Ram/Frazer Type 1 ambulance which was formerly from the Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance Corps (Bergen County.)
Fire & Safety Services reports the following Pierce deliveries: Pennsville (Salem County) received an Enforcer heavy duty rescue pumper and Franklin Lakes (Bergen County) received an Enforcer 105 foot aerial ladder quint. Burlington Fire District 1 has ordered an Enforcer 107 foot Ascendant ladder.
The 1st Priority Group has delivered a Crestline CCL-150 Type III ambulance on a Ford E-450 chassis to ABBA Medical Transportation which serves Aberdeen Township (Monmouth County.)
