Communications
There are times where we want to speak to someone but we have to go through a gate keeper, that could be an operator, dispatcher, secretary or whatever. They are the one who determines if you are worthy or not to talk to the person that you want to or need to. Have you ever watched the Wizard of Oz and seen the guard that let them into the Emerald City to see the Wizard? Have you ever had to see the receptionist in a big corporation who judged you just by the way that you appeared?
In certain organizations, you have a chain of command that you have to follow. They may stress it even when you are in trouble and calling a mayday for help but there are times when time is of the essence and you need to go around their system.
There are places that stress the chain of command so much that it could promote abuse because the organization stop people's need for help, by using the chain of command to keep people and problems away from leadership, where the leaders only want to view things through rose colored glasses.
Some churches have "small groups" where a small amount of people get together and the leader of the house of worship does not have to hear what is going on or the people's concerns. Granted there are large houses of worship and it is when you have the large houses of worship where the leader is kept from what is really going on where they are.
One time, I called a prayer line and wanted to pray. I immediately got an automated system. It had to speak to the gift shop, to giving, to this, to that and to pray with someone press 9. Then I finally got a what I figure was a person. They asked me for my account number to pray. WHAT? I asked why they need my account number. They told me that they are professional. I thought that I called a joke line instead. I mentioned to them that when I prayed to God, the Creator, He NEVER asked me for an account number. He just listened. We have access to Him at any time and I am never put on hold. We do not have to go through a switchboard.
There are houses of worship where you have to go to someone and tell them what you did wrong in your life. Some have even created their own departments that you need to talk to about certain challenges. For them, if you are traveling, you need to talk with this person, another person handles health issues, another person handles if you lost something, another person for lost causes, etc.
People make talking to God so difficult. Would you tell those things to the soldier or sailor in a fight for their life, where they are praying as they are fighting? Would you tell that to the EMT or paramedic, who is praying for a patient as they are working on them and taking them to the hospital, fighting for the patient's life? Would you want things to be difficult when you are praying for a loved one's health? Or for your life when you are in really bad shape physically or mentally?
When we pray to God, we do not hear "please stand by, your prayer is very important to us." God hears our prayers along with all who pray to Him. We mean that much to Him. No switch board. No filling out forms in triplicate. No chain of command. We have direct communications with our Father.
We can start our prayer with "God, its me. I know we have talked in a while but ...."
I have seen prayers of a concerned parent that was answered. I have seen patients looking for healing or looking for direction, or praying for the doctors to have the skills needed.
What do you need to talk with God about? You know deep down that God wants to hear from you. He wants to hear from each one of His children. If your a parent, you really want to hear from your children.
Let's start: "God it's me again. I know that I don't talk to You that much......."
Stay safe and talk to God. Let Him know about the good things as well as the bad.
