SOME VEHICLES FROM MIDLESEX COUNTY

Middlesex County is bordered by the counties of Somerset, Union, Mercer and Monmouth. It is 324.3-square-miles. Bodies of water to the east include the Arthur Kill and Raritan Bay. It is across from Staten Island, New York. It has some cities and townships with both career and volunteer fire departments, plus those of industrial brigades, the county hazmat and the fire academy which has a few apparatus for training purposes, one of which is in the photos along with a tanker from the county fire marshal’s office. In the photos are a Spartan ER pumper with an FC94 chassis from the academy and the tanker, a Spartan ER on a Freightliner 114SD Plus chassis, which was also photographed at the academy. The pumper is the first one on the Spartan ER FC94 chassis which Campbell Supply has sold. Next is an E-ONE Typhoon pumper from Highland Park, which is their first out unit followed by two Pierce mid-mount platforms in Woodbridge Township. One is from Keasbey on an Arrow XT chassis and the other from Woodbridge proper on a Velocity chassis. This second one is a quint. The next two are from Old Bridge Township. One is a Sutphen Monarch pumper from Laurence Harbor and the other a Sutphen Monarch/SVI heavy rescue from the Cheesequake FD. Cheesequake’s former rescue, a 1989 Sutphen Deluge/SVI, was purchased by Matawan. Finally, in East Brunswick Township, the Brookview FC E-903 has a Pierce Enforcer pumper. There will be more Middlesex County apparatus photos to follow in future issues.

Campbell Supply Co., LLC has delivered a Spartan ER Metro Star pumper to Upper Saddle River (Bergen County). It has an EMFD chassis with 5-inch raised roof cab, Waterous CSU 1500-gpm pump and 950-gallon water tank. They are prepping two units for delivery. One is for the New Egypt Fire Company in Plumstead Township (Ocean County). It is a Spartan ER tanker with Metro Star EMFD chassis, 10-inch raised roof cab, Hale Qmax 2000-gpm pump and 3000-gallon water tank. The other is for Fairview (Bergen County) and is a Spartan ER NXT rescue pumper on a Metro Star MFD chassis. It has a Waterous CMU 1500-gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank.
