LODI HOSE CO. 1 MEMBERS REUNION AND RECOGNITION FOR SERVICE

Photo by RON JEFFERSL-R: Lodi Councilman Emil Carafa presented Fire Chief Nelson Garson and senior fire company member Archie Dowson with a Borough Proclamation recognizing Hose Co. 1 for their 118 years of service to the community during the company's volunteer firefighter reunion gathering, April 18th.
On the afternoon of April 18th members of Lodi Hose Co. 1 held a reunion gathering at Fire Headquarters in which Borough officials also recognized the company members for their 118-years of service to the community.
Active and retired members, plus former members who moved out-of-town, attended the event. Hose Co. 1's 2021 E-One Typhoon model pumper was on the apparatus apron for former members to inspect.
Councilman Emil Carafa was on hand to present the company with a Borough Proclamation which was presented to Chief of Department Nelson Garzon and senior company member and ex-chief Archie Dowson, who has 55-years of service.
The proclamation recognized the volunteer firefighters for, “demonstrating dedication, courage and a steadfast commitment to protect lives and property.
Along with the borough's other fire companies, Hose 1 members protect a municipality with several major highways passing through, some 3,500 public school students, Felician University with a student population of over 2,100, a U.S. Army Reserve Center, N.J. National Guard Armory and a state motor vehicle driving testing and inspection facility.
The proclamation, signed by Mayor Scott A. Luna, also added that the Borough, “recognized and honored members of Hose Co. 1 and extended sincere appreciation to all past and present members for their outstanding service and dedication to the Borough of Lodi.”
