We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our brother, retired Spalding County Firefighter "Mr. Bobby" Peurifoy.

Bobby was instrumental in helping develop our department to the standard at which it operates today. During his tenure with the department he served as chaplain as well as physical fitness instructor.

To this day, many still remember the cadences he developed to help instill a sense of camaraderie during his notoriously rigorous physical training regimens during their recruit classes. Bobby spent many years of his career at Roberts Station 2, located on South McDonough Road, where he was well known and loved by many in the community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Barbara and their family during this difficult time.
