Multi-AgencyTraining Hosted by Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Department

MARGATE, FL - Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Department hosted a multi-agency pediatric training evolution. Members from Margate- Coconut Creek Fire Department, Lauderhill Fire Department, Tamarac Fire Department, and North Lauderdale Fire Department all took part in the Pediatric Emergency Resuscitation Course.

The course was presented by Emergency Education Institute Pediatric Care and L&D Nursing Instructors, Maricar Cabral and Kate Gillespie. These instructors have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of pediatric care working in various Emergency Departments and Now DiMaggio Children's Center.

The training, which is being held over 6 days, provided the firefighter/ paramedics with advanced knowledge on pediatric emergencies and complicated child birth. The information obtained during this training will be paramount with improving survivability for pediatric patients.
