PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ - Every December, Wreaths Across America has a convoy of tractor-trailers and police escorts travel from Maine to Washington D.C. Its mission to remember, honor and teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

Wreaths Across America is a nationwide campaign to forever remember the sacrifice of veterans. The Totowa and West Paterson Fire Departments gathered to greet and support the long line of trucks and police cars from four states as they arrived in the Garden State on the evening of December 12, 2022. The volunteer firefighters of these two neighboring communities in North Jersey are honored to do their part during the holiday season by displaying all the holiday light decorated emergency vehicles that even included a former U.S. Army M48A3 Patton Medium Tank!

The tradition of remembering the fallen and honoring those who serve, as well as their families, continues. We must teach the future generations about the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms. Our veterans sacrificed and gave much while some gave all for our country, and this is a fitting tribute to those who served.
