Windham, NH – November 10 — The annual automobile extrication training was conducted by Windham Fire Department and Emergency Management, located at 3 Fellows Road. In order to replicate crash-scene rescues, which include stabilizing a car before extracting trapped occupants, members of groups 1 and 3 worked on raised rigs. Techniques like patient access protocols, safe use of hydraulic rescue equipment, and vehicle stabilization were tested during the exercise. One of the most frequent rescue tasks that fire teams encounter is vehicle extrication.
Crews are kept ready for situations in the real world and the advancement of vehicle technology through regular practical training. The exercise tonight underlined Windham's dedication to preparedness and security.
