November 14, 2025 — The Frenchtown Rural Fire District notified residents that the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is actively conducting controlled burns off Southside Road, just south of Huson.

Community members are advised to expect significant flame and nighttime glow from large burn piles throughout the evening hours. Fire district personnel confirmed they have inspected the area to ensure there is no fire spread and stated that, based on current weather conditions and burn management practices, no extension of the fire is expected.

Officials emphasized that the operation is being closely monitored and is part of routine vegetation and hazard reduction efforts. Residents who observe the glow or smoke during the night are reminded that this activity is planned and controlled.

The Frenchtown Rural Fire District thanked the public for their awareness and cooperation as the prescribed burn continues.
