November 12, 2025 — The Auburndale Fire Department extended its gratitude to Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia for awarding a decontamination grant that will directly support firefighter health and safety.

The grant funding will be used to purchase a new extractor unit dedicated to properly washing and decontaminating firefighter turnout gear. This critical equipment helps remove harmful carcinogens and contaminants that firefighters are exposed to during emergency responses, significantly reducing long-term health risks.

Department leadership emphasized that the purpose of the grant is to strengthen firefighter wellness and safety, ensuring crews have the best possible protection both on and off the fireground.

The Auburndale Fire Department also offered sincere thanks to all first responders who serve the community with dedication and courage every day.
