November 18, 2025 — Midweek routines were anything but ordinary as Davenport Police and Fire crews spent time last week visiting with students in the community, turning an ordinary day into a meaningful moment of connection, encouragement, and inspiration.

First responders had the opportunity to teach, mentor, and simply spend time with local students, sharing positive messages while building trust and relationships outside of emergency situations. The energy and enthusiasm from the students proved to be a powerful reminder of why community engagement remains such an important part of public service.

Officials noted that serving the city goes beyond emergency response—it starts with moments like these that shape relationships, build confidence in young people, and strengthen the bond between first responders and the community they serve.
