November 20, 2025 — The Davenport Fire Department gathered today to say thank you and farewell to Fire Chief JT, marking the conclusion of 15 years of dedicated service to the department and the community.

During his tenure, Chief JT became known as far more than a leader. He served as a mentor, teacher, and trusted friend to many, leaving a lasting impact through the team he built, the firefighters he guided, and the countless lives he touched along the way. His presence was known for steady leadership, genuine care for people, and a lighthearted spirit—often being the first to invite others to lunch.

Colleagues reflected on the positive culture he fostered and the pride he instilled within the department, noting that his influence will continue to be felt long after his retirement.

The Davenport Fire Department extends its deepest gratitude to Chief JT for his years of service and wishes him a joyful, well-earned retirement.
