Litchfield, NH — November 27 — On a holiday when the station was understaffed, Litchfield Fire Rescue responded to two consecutive emergencies. Engine 2 and C5 responded to the first call, which described an unconscious person at the town's north end. A second report for a 15-year-old girl who was unconscious was received while personnel were working. After resolving the initial issue, Engine 2 replied, followed by C1 and C2. Because Hudson units were not available, a Londonderry ambulance and paramedic were also called.
A petrol meter on the medical bag warned personnel of the home's hazardous carbon monoxide levels during the evaluation. The source was identified as a lawn tractor that had been operating in the garage, and the house was promptly evacuated.
