Litchfield, NH — November 25 — In response to a second-alarm building fire at The Tap House Restaurant on Route 101, Litchfield Fire Rescue provided mutual aid to Bedford. While workers attempted to contain the extension within the business structure, engines 2 and C1 were tasked with supporting the fireground.
Several ladder trucks operating overhead were supplied with water by Engine 2 relay-pumped water via a lengthy supply pipe installed along Route 101. Before crews left the area, firefighters helped put out any last hot spots and performed an overhaul to make sure the building was completely safe. Bedford command withdrew Litchfield units after they had been in operation for almost two hours. In order to maintain response capability at home throughout the mutual-aid deployment, the department also praised its on-call firefighters for providing station coverage.
