Litchfield, NH — November 22 — As Manchester firefighters battled a building fire on Maple Street, Litchfield Fire Rescue sent Engine 4 to cover Station 9 as part of their mutual aid response. If another call came in, the assignment made sure that the district's emergency response would begin right away.

Neighboring departments frequently need to provide extra assistance during major fire occurrences, either on-site or through station coverage. The region's resource availability and public safety are preserved thanks to these concerted efforts. Litchfield staff were prepared to respond to any new medical or fire emergencies in the area while Manchester services were dedicated to the ongoing fire. A long-standing mutual-aid structure that improves service delivery for communities in southern New Hampshire is reflected in this arrangement.
