Milford Assists Amherst Fire Rescue With High-Angle Incident

Amherst, NH — November 23 — Amherst Police and Department Amherst Fire Rescue, located at 177 Amherst St., responded to an uncommon report about an injured person who was stranded high in a tree. When responders arrived, they discovered that the person's injuries and height prevented them from safely down. Firefighters evaluated the situation and concluded that a technical rescue was necessary to get to the patient and lower them safely.

In order to help the elevated rescue operation, the Milford Fire Department was asked to provide mutual aid, which included more personnel and equipment. In order to secure the patient, securely transport them to the ground, and transfer care to EMS for assessment, crews collaborated. The incident was cited by officials as a reminder of the importance of consistent training and solid collaborations with nearby emergency organizations.
